VNA Care Management: Why You Need This if You’re Caring for an Aging Loved One

The Visiting Nurse Association of Florida (VNA) understands firsthand that care management is a full-time responsibility. It’s not uncommon for family members who are caring for a loved one at home to find themselves handling more than just their loved one’s immediate healthcare needs. Oftentimes, family members must manage their loved one’s financial obligations, doctor’s appointments, caregiver scheduling, medication refills, and so much more. When the demands of caring for a loved one become too challenging to manage alone, family members need someone to turn for trusted care management services—someone like the VNA. Care management by the VNA connects medical professionals with family members who are caring for an aging loved one at home. Our care management team assists family members with managing their loved one’s health conditions and associated responsibilities, including:

  • Handling and monitoring basic financial transactions
  • Patient transitions to and from hospital stays
  • Coordination of home healthcare services
  • Providing resource referrals for elder law, financial planning, and bill paying

If you or a loved one suffers from arthritis or chronic joint discomfort, increasing your water intake can help relieve daily aches and pains, and in turn, improve your quality of life. Maintain a Comfortable Temperature. If you suffer from extreme highs in body temperature or excess sweating during the summer months, drinking more water can help keep you cool by lowering your body temperature. Water works as a regulator to help balance your system and cool you down if you get too hot. Try keeping a glass of ice water with you wherever you go to maintain a co

CHEERS TO FORTY! Four decades ago, VNA of Martin County, before it became Visiting Nurse Association of Florida, established its roots in our community. It was founded on the belief that anyone recovering from illness or injuries deserved in-home professional nursing care, regardless of their ability to pay. Celebrating its 40th year in operation, VNA of Florida has conducted more than 2 million patient visits and received multiple national awards for quality of patient care and satisfaction. The nonprofit has built its brand on professionalism and putting the patient first while continually adapting to the ever-changing healthcare industry. “More than anything,” says CEO Don Crow, “the credit for our success could not be achieved without the dedication of our clinical staff and key employees that have been with the company for over 20 years. The work they do is just incredible.” In 1976, Patricia Quinn Crow took a bold stand to save Martin County’s only option for home healthcare. Initially just a small3 satellite office of the much-larger Palm Beach Regional VNA, the Martin County branch faced closing its doors when the parent operation suffered financial strain. Pa
