Support Groups

Support Groups

The VNA of Florida offers several monthly support groups led by trained medical professionals to provide patients and their loved ones with the tools and skills needed to overcome the effects of stroke and memory loss.

Both Alzheimer’s and other dementia disorders come with a multitude of daily challenges, from physical to mental to social. If you or your loved one is experiencing early stages of Alzheimer’s or dementia, compassion and support from others in a similar situation can make a world of difference.

The Visiting Nurse Association of Florida offers a support group called Memory Café that aims to help those suffering with Alzheimer’s and dementia cope with their disease. Memory Café is open to both the individual with the disorder, as well as their loved ones, family members, friends, or caretakers. The group meets once a month to participate in activities such as:

  • Arts n’ crafts
  • Memory games
  • Word searches
  • Team building exercises

Memory Café is a great way for individuals to come together and share their experiences. It gives those suffering from Alzheimer’s or dementia perspective, with the knowledge that they are not alone in their disease.

For more information on Memory Café, please contact us at 800-518-1312.
