The Visiting Nurse Association of Florida has provided at-home skilled nursing care since 1976, so we recognize the role a safe and familiar environment plays in the healing process. We offer an assortment of skilled nursing services to address the many and varied needs of our patients. Explore our services below for more information on the types of care we provide.

 

Post Surgery Care – A VNA of Florida Registered Nurse (RN) and Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) team will visit you or your loved one in the comfort of home to attend to and care for post-surgery incisions. Our professional staff will educate you or your loved one on the recovery and healing process, recommend treatments, and monitor incision progress.

Wound Care – Our skilled clinical staff will treat a patient’s acute or chronic wound appropriate to the wound’s stage and complexity. VNA of Florida will work with you or your loved one to determine the level of care required to heal the wound and prevent infection.

Rehabilitation – Whether you’re recovering from a stroke or a major surgery, VNA of Florida can provide rehabilitation services in the safety and comfort of home. Our Physical, Occupational, and/or Speech Therapists will help you or your loved one regain independence and relearn everyday skills that may now prove difficult.

Fall Prevention – VNA of Florida’s Fall Prevention Program can help you or your loved one improve balance and coordination and increase understanding of the many factors behind falls. We will provide you with the educational tools you need to feel safe and confident at home.

Joint Replacement Program – Joint replacement surgeries are challenging procedures accompanied by equally challenging recoveries. VNA of Florida’s Total Joint Program can start immediately after surgery and in the comfort of your home. Our Physical and Occupational Therapists will help you or your loved one get a head start on at-home rehabilitation and regaining mobility.

Cardiac Care – VNA of Florida offers a variety of cardiac care services to assist with heart attack recovery, Heart Failure, or stroke. Our highly skilled team can assist you or your loved one with cardiac rehabilitation and prevention for future heart-related issues.

Heart Failure Program – The Heart Failure Program at VNA of Florida focusses on treating the disease and relieving common symptoms such as fatigue, swelling, and shortness of breath. Our team of professionals will provide you or your loved one with the educational tools you need to make healthy choices and reduce risk factors related to the disease.

Medication Management – Understanding the instructions for multiple medications on one’s own can be confusing and problematic. Medication management is an important service for seniors juggling numerous prescriptions at once. VNA of Florida’s Medication Management program provides individuals with instruction and supervision to help prevent medication errors and misunderstandings.

Chronic Disease Management – VNA of Florida offers Chronic Disease Management programs. These include our Heart Failure, Lung Disease, Diabetes, and Stroke Programs. The Chronic Disease Management programs aim to help individuals manage symptoms and improve quality of life.

Lung Disease Program – Living with Lung Disease (COPD) can come with an array of symptoms and complications. VNA of Florida’s Lung Disease Program can help you or your loved one reduce risk factors, prevent infections, and learn about environmental irritants involved with the disease.

Diabetes Program – Uncontrolled diabetes can lead to serious health problems including heart disease, stroke, kidney disease, and blindness. VNA of Florida’s Diabetes Program can educate and assist you or your loved one with tasks such as blood sugar monitoring, meal planning, and insulin management.

Stroke Program – VNA of Florida’s Stroke Management Program provides patients with the educational tools and rehabilitation required to recover from a stroke, and prevent the possibility of secondary stroke. Our Physical, Speech, and Occupational Therapists help patients regain independence and reduce risk factors for recurrent stroke.

Alzheimer’s Care – Caring for a loved one with Alzheimer’s disease can be challenging. VNA of Florida’s Alzheimer’s care programs can help both patient and caregiver better understand the disease and its many complexities. Our programs include memory care at home, relief care for unexpected situations, and Alzheimer’s support groups.

We will work closely with you, your family, and your physician to create a customized plan of care unique to your condition.
