STUART, Florida- (Tuesday, June 28, 2011) The Visiting Nurse Association of Florida is proud to announce that mobile clinic manager Debbie Ecker has been given an upgraded assignment with the Florida branch of the Disaster Medical Assistance Team (D.M.A.T.). D.M.A.T. deploys to disaster areas in coordination with F.E.M.A. and other emergency response teams to provide medical care immediately after an incident. Recently, responsibilities included responding to the disaster in Haiti.

The 19th Annual Charity Golf Tournament

The Visiting Nurse Association of Florida, Inc. will host its 19th Annual Charity Golf Tournament on October 14, 2011 at Willoughby Golf Club in Stuart, FL. The Golf Committee is proud to announce that the 2011 Golf Tournament raised over $12,000 for the VNA Foundation. Empower Support Group Celebrates One Year Anniversary

VNA to Offer LiveScan

STUART, Florida- (Thursday December 2, 2010) The Visiting Nurse Association of Florida is now offering state mandated Level 2 LiveScan screenings to healthcare providers on the Treasure Coast. The screening process is offered at a rate of $55 to those with state approved photo ID from 8am-4pm Mon.-Fri. The VNA is located at 2400 SE Monterey Rd., Stuart.

Healthy Hearts to Meet for First Time

STUART, Florida- (Thursday, December 02, 2010) The HOPE Stroke Support Group presented by Manatee Memorial Hospital and the Visiting Nurse Association of Florida will be hosting a Holiday Celebration titled “Hope for the Holidays” Tuesday, December 7th at Bradenton Country Club, 4646 Ninth Ave., West Bradenton, Fl 34209. The event will include a heart-healthy dinner and beverages, door prizes and gifts for all in attendance. HOPE’s mission and vision for persons experiencing stroke is to provide quality interdisciplinary care within the community setting related to stroke and cerebrovascular health. Greg comes to the VNA with over 20 years of experience in Finance and has been on the VNA Board of Directors for over a decade. “It’s very exciting to be a part of the day to day operations that as a board member, I haven’t had the pleasure of experiencing”, said Wheeler. “I think this is a great opportunity to learn what happens on the ground level of such a great agency”.

The Visiting Nurse Association of Florida today announced that it has been named one of the Top 500 home health agencies in the country, according to the 2010 HomeCare Elite. HomeCare Elite identifies the top 25 percent of home health agencies in the United States and further identifies the top 500 agencies overall. Winners are ranked by an analysis of performance measures in quality outcomes, quality improvement, and financial performance.
