The Stop Stroke Society, a coalition of the Visiting Nurse Association of Florida together with St. Lucie Medical Center will be hosting a seminar discussing the Hospitalist Program on Wednesday, April 28th from 5 to 7:30 PM at PGA Country Club located at 951 SW Country Club Drive in Port St Lucie.

Second Place Awarded to Sandy Ripper-Brown at the University of Florida Research Day

Sandy developed a model for the use of Nurse Practitioners in the immediate post-disaster period following a hurricane. It is a collaborative model among the VNA, Martin County Fire Rescue, Martin Memorial Hospital, and Martin County Health Department’s Medical Reserve Corps. The purpose of the poster presentation is to provide a visual depiction of the model’s development and the impact it will have on the community, on nursing, and specifically on the role of Nurse Practitioner education, training, and work experience. It was presented at the University of Florida Research Day and earned a ribbon for second place.
The Strike Out Stroke Society, a coalition of the Visiting Nurse Association of Florida together with Lawnwood Regional Medical Center will be hosting a seminar about using music therapy for relaxation techniques on Friday, April 9th from 2-3 PM at Pelican Yacht Club located at 1120 Seaway Drive Ft.Pierce.
