Falls are the leading cause of death and injury to people of age 65 and older; at least 30 to 40% of these falls could be prevented.
Our Fall Prevention Program offers:
- Education about the causes and risk of falls
- Evaluations by nurses and therapists to identify personal and environmental fall risk factors
- Care focused on exercise that strengthens and reduces the risks of falling
Fall risks are reduced by:
- Reviewing and teaching about medications
- Vision Screening
- Understanding diseases that increase fall risks
- Training and strengthening to improve walking and getting around without falling
- Improving balance
- Learning a home exercise program to keep you active
