Fall Prevention Program

Falls are the leading cause of death and injury to people of age 65 and older; at least 30 to 40% of these falls could be prevented.

Our Fall Prevention Program offers:

  • Education about the causes and risk of falls
  • Evaluations by nurses and therapists to identify personal and environmental fall risk factors
  • Care focused on exercise that strengthens and reduces the risks of falling

Fall risks are reduced by:

  • Reviewing and teaching about medications
  • Vision Screening
  • Understanding diseases that increase fall risks
  • Training and strengthening to improve walking and getting around without falling
  • Improving balance
  • Learning a home exercise program to keep you active
